Asantewaa's team has set up livestream links on various social platforms to ensure global visibility of the attempt.
The current world record holder is the Indian singer Sunil Waghmare who sung for 105 hours in 2012. He sang a variety of Hindi and Marathi songs during his marathon session.
For the singing marathon, Afua is permitted five minutes of rest every hour. However, these breaks cannot be accumulated over time. She must sing a wide variety of songs and cannot repeat a song within four hours of having performed it.
While breaking a world record is no easy feat, Afua Asantewaa is also seizing this opportunity to shine a spotlight on the Ghanaian music industry. Her courage, talent, and determination is a clear representation of the unique character and resilience found in Ghanaian musicians and artists.
By attempting this world record, Afua is setting a remarkable example for aspiring musicians in Ghana and across the world. Even as she embarks on this daunting endeavor, she continues to carry the rich and vibrant spirit of Ghana's music industry.
From Afua's performances, the global audience will be able to enjoy a multitude of genres that span from Highlife, Hiplife, Afro-pop to gospel, showing the world the full breadth and depth of Ghana's musical traditions.
If she succeeds, Afua Asantewaa will become not only a Guinness World Record holder but also a national heroine, putting Ghanaian music on the global map.
As her fans cheer her on, all of Ghana and indeed the world waits with bated breath to see if she can sing her way into the record books.
