In a stunning development out of the eastern region of Ghana, some residents of Hemang have been caught stealing aggregate from a recently built road connecting Dwenease to Hemang in the Fanteakwa District.
According to sources, the thieves were using spades to sneak the material into their homes undetected. This illicit activity was discovered by vigilant community members, who immediately alerted authorities.
The elder council and local police force have been called upon to launch a full investigation into the matter.
It remains unclear how many people were involved or how much aggregate was stolen, but authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
The thieves of this important road-building material are a serious crime and will not be tolerated. We urge all members of the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities immediately.
